Welcome to the Science Faculty. We are one of the biggest faculties in school with 11 teachers, two technicians, one Teaching Assistant and one Faculty Assistant. Our results across all key stages have been improving year on year, which is reflected in number of students taking Chemistry, Biology and Physics in the 6th form. Many of our students choose science to be their life career and proceed to study Optometry, Pharmacy or Clinical Sciences at university. Recently we have also had some students going on to study Dentistry and Medicine as well as some Engineering courses.
Science is a very important subject, so why not come and study it at Belle Vue Girls’ where we guarantee that you will enjoy it and with a commitment to work and study also get good results.
Key Stage 3
Curriculum, with extra materials to increase the relevance and enjoyment. Students have three lessons per week, generally with one teacher. Students study a wide range of topics - from the smallest cells to Space and beyond. There should be something for everyone here! Over the last few years our results have seen a steady improvement. A lot is down to great teaching, revision techniques and exam preparation ... as well as the hard work of our students!
Key Stage 4
Students start their KS4 course in year 9. We proudly offer great range of courses for our students, which cater for all learning styles and interests.
Our courses are:

Core and Additional Science taught by biology, chemistry and physics specialist. This course is also a good preparation for science A level as long as student achieves at least two B grades.
BTEC is a hands on practical course aimed at students who enjoy active learning.
Entry Level Science course is aimed at students who enjoy science and like a mixture of practical and more traditional style delivery.
