The aims of the ICT Department are to:
- enable students to enjoy using ICT
- develop understanding so that the students engage with different applications with confidence and a sense of achievement
- develop practical skills in the use of ICT and the ability to apply these skills to everyday life and the world of work
- understand the limitations of ICT and the responsibility that goes with its use.
Currently, our facilities include three dedicated ICT suites as well as four other suites which are used jointly with other faculties. Each suite is fitted with up to 30 personal computers and interactive whiteboard.
Key Stage 3
At Key Stage 3 students in Years 7, 8 and 9 all study ICT for one hour per week in line with the new strategy for ICT. As a fast changing subject the course continues to be developed each year to include changes in the use of ICT
Key Stage 4
At Key Stage 4 students at Belle Vue Girls’ undertake the OCR Nationals ICT course, either as a single or double award.
Key Stage 5
ICT is a popular choice of students at post-16. At Key Stage 5 students follow the OCR Nationals Level 3 course.
