EXAM INFORMATION

FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

EXAMINATIONS – May/June 2011

EXAM TIMETABLES

Timetables were sent out to all students before Easter.  Keep your timetable safe – don’t lose it!
Your timetable includes important information, including your Candidate Number – you will need this for each exam.  If you have not received your timetable, have lost it, or have any questions at all about your exams, please visit the Exams Office in D16 as soon as possible.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION
A photo identification card has been issued to you.  Please look after the card and take care not to lose it.  You must bring this ID card to every examination.

GETTING TO THE EXAM
You must ensure you get to your exam on time. The start time of each exam is shown on your timetable; in general morning exams start at 09.00hrs and afternoon exams at 13.30hrs.  For morning exams you must be in school by 8.30am in the morning.  Please allow extra time for journeys. You must ensure you arrive at the exam room at least 15 minutes before the start of the exam.

If it is obvious that you will be late for an examination, please contact School Reception immediately. A decision will be made on your arrival as to whether you can still sit the examination as there is no guarantee that

Examination Boards will mark the scripts of candidates who have arrived late.

When you get to the exam room, please check the seating plan outside the room to find out where you have been seated.

CONDUCT DURING EXAMNATIONS
On arrival at the examination room line up quietly outside until you are asked to enter the room.  Once inside the room the room you are under examination conditions and should take your seat in silence.  Talking is not allowed except to an Invigilator.

MOBILE PHONES & OTHER ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

Mobile phones and MP3 players must not be brought to examinations.  If it is absolutely necessary to bring your phone to School it will be taken from you in the Exam Room and stored securely until the end of the examination.  Being found with phones or other electronic equipment on you during the examination could lead to disqualification.

EQUIPMENT

It is important that you are prepared for the examinations; you must bring at least 2 black pens, an HB pencil, rubber, ruler and calculator (when necessary). Pencil cases must be clear plastic. Food is not allowed in the examination room. A bottle of water is permitted, but this must be clear plastic with the label removed.

ILLNESS

It is very important that you turn up to every exam. Hopefully every student will be in ‘good health’ throughout the exam period.  However, unforeseen illness can strike; in which case contact School Reception as soon as possible so we can advise on the best approach.
